Today has been a busy day, full of things to do and things to think about. My beloved daughter is not happy; she has conjunctivitis and it’s getting her down. Time for the Glad Game.
My wonderful friend introduced me to the Glad Game a long time ago, on a very bad day; when things get you down, you ‘do a Pollyanna’ and you find things to be glad about, you find the silver lining. So, dear daughter, here goes…
We can be glad that, even though we spent an hour in the walk-in centre, we did it together. We talked and giggled, and you rested your head on my shoulder. When was the last time?? We can be glad that, even though you didn’t feel great, we did some things together for a change. We shopped (ok, a fairly common occurrence nowadays) and we made brownies, and we talked about nothing in particular.
We can be glad that, for the first time in a while, things have felt normal, and comforting and good.
I love you, my dearest; I hope you feel better soon x x x
